Once a working farm, the Elizabethan Farmhouse and 6 Holiday Cottages have been imaginatively restored to romantic lake cottages of charm, character and quality. Graded 4 star and 5 star, they have many home from home comforts including satellite television with all sports, movies and children's channels as well as Wi-Fi access.

The cottages are set beside a beautiful 17th century packhorse bridge and the tumbling Whillan Beck in the pretty village of Boot, in the delightful Eskdale valley, Lake District. We are secluded but not isolated and form an integral part of the village with its 2 welcoming Inns just 50 yards and 150 yards away. There is stunning Lake District scenery all around and many of England's best walks on the doorstep.

Open all year, our Lake District cottages sleep from 2 to 9. Summer weekly lets commence Friday, Saturday or Sunday according to cottage and Winter short breaks are available.

John Ruskin wrote of Eskdale as the "Gateway to Paradise" whilst Alfred Wainwright, the famous Lakeland author, described Eskdale as a "perfect Arcadia in the hills - the finest of all valleys."

4 and 5 Star Rated Lake District Holiday Accommodation

Bridge End Farm Cottages are situated in Boot, Eskdale, The Lake District, and consist of the Grade 2 Listed Elizabethan Farmhouse, holiday accommodation which sleeps up to 8, and a range of Grade 2 Listed Barns, converted into 6 holiday cottages, accommodation that sleep from 2 to 9.

The holiday cottages are set in the small, tranquil village of Boot, in the Western Lake District, so, you are afforded the peace, quiet and tranquility of a more remote location but also have good access to local amenities and the charming village pubs just a minute or two's walk away in the village. Each cottage is self-catering holiday accommodation so why not grab some fresh, local Lake District produce and cook up a storm!

The Farmhouse and holiday cottages themselves are full of charm and character, with exposed beams and stone work and some have fireplaces, there are beautiful gardens and awe inspiring views of the Lake District Fells, we even have the Whillan Beck running past the holiday cottages. So, these Lake District cottages do indeed blend into and compliment the beauty of the surrounding area.

The beauty of the Lake District is breathtaking all year round, especially the area surrounding Bridge End Farm Cottages. You can walk amongst the snow capped Fells in winter, like Scafell Pike, and then "cosy up" next to the fire place in one of the local Inns with a local ale, or two. Or in summer, rock jump into one of the nearby rivers, for example, the River Esk, or swim in a nearby lake, e.g. Wastwater Lake or head off for a day on the fells.

A visit to the Lake District is an all round adventure with lots to offer, walking, climbing, mountain biking, swimming, fishing, horse riding and much more. And, if all that sounds a little over active, there is much to see and do and many local attractions from Historic House and Castles to quaint villages and market towns to historic steam railways that both adults and children will love. But, more importantly, it is about relaxing....

Select Cottages will take every step to make sure your stay in the Lake District is an escape from the strains and stresses of everyday life and that at the end of your stay with us you will leave with a revitalised mind, body and soul!
