“I just wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic weekend at Wrynose Cottage. The accommodation you offer is superb, very cosy and warm, even at this time of year. The location is second to none. Your staff there are great and although due to the well run nature of the cottages, we didn't need any help, everyone was very welcoming. We'll definitely be back. Thanks again.”

  • Wrynose Brand New Italian Leather Sofa

Named after Wrynose Fell, which, in spite of its being in the next valley, is well renowned and has been acclaimed to hold, like Hardknott Fell, the other of the Lake District’s most outrageous mountain passes on its slopes! You will similarly be in awe of this smaller but equally supreme abode. For a one bedroom cottage, Wrynose is surprisingly spacious, so if you have a young child, baby or both in your party, Wrynose can accommodate you all.  Just let us know and we can add a foldaway bed, cot or both to your booking.

Whilst the bathroom is large for a one bedroom cottage, the separate kitchen is compact but handsomely equipped with full gas hob, oven, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave so you can cook up all your favourite suppers in no time. The kitchen has been recently renovated and finished in time for 2018! We have worked around our historic features to ensure you have all your home comforts.

Accommodation Summary:

Ground floor: brand new separate kitchen and lounge/dining area and 1 recently renovated bathroom with slipper bath and separate shower cubicle

First floor: 1 double bedroom with kingsize bed. On request a fold out Z bed for a young child and/or cot available.

"I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed my stay at Bridge End Farm last month.  My cottage, Wrynose, was perfect and I look forward to a return visit.  Bob and the ladies were so pleasant and helpful.  I am hoping that my next visit will be for a longer stay."

"A wonderful introduction to the Lake District - this was our first trip to the Lake District and I'm delighted that I stumbled on these cottages. They are brilliantly situated in a lovely quiet village in the western lakes district. I didn't appreciate how lovely and quiet everything was until we drove around to some of the other towns and lakes and then I realized what a gem we had found. Greg, the owner was incredibly helpful with great tips on walks and hikes in the valley. The cottage itself was very cosy and because we had such beautiful weather we would often spend the late afternoon laying out in the garden or riverside picnic area that is part of the property. It was a wonderful trip and was the perfect antidote to a hectic season in London."

Great for the outdoors! For the walker, runner or cyclist the location is perfect. My first experience of cycling in the Lake District was the Fred Whitton Challenge 110 mile charity event, which introduced me to the roads the local area has to offer. The cottage is about 2 miles from the epic Hardknott and Wrynose Passes; must-haves on the list of any cycling enthusiast's list of climbs! The fells surrounding Boot have plenty of beautiful walks and runs, with the magnificent Wastwater nearby - only a short run over the fell! Be sure to check out the amazing tarns and waterfalls which seem to spring up out of nowhere! After an action packed day the cottage was very welcoming, warming and relaxing - just what you need to recover!
